Do Something? One Stop Shop for Women's Services

Have you ever wondered what happens at the Mackay Women’s Centre?

It houses a wide range of services including Women Health & Well-being programs, Pregnancy & Parenting Support (Mums & Dads) DV Resources, Counselling and Support (Women & Men) and much more.

Our special guest for July was  Dr Anne Butcher, Executive Director, Mackay Women’s Services

Anne provided us with an insight into the many services provided and then opened the floor to discussing the "Do Something!" promotion.  Members and visitors contributed to the conversation and we all found we learnt something new.  One topic that resonated through the group was developing "Respectful Relationships" and how providing education on this can be of great value to our community.

From this the Club has decided to embrace the theme of "Respectful Relationships" for our "Walk the Talk" program held during  16 days of activism to eliminate Violence against Women from
November 25, International Day Against Violence Against Women to December 10, International Human Rights Day.  We will be brainstorming phrases to provide a path to encourage this during our next Learn & Laugh.
